Ans: The villagers are very simple and straightforward people. They lead a simple, happy and contented life. The atmosphere of the village is peaceful and people enjoy the fresh air and natural beauty in villages.

Ans: The villages are thinly populated and the cities are thickly populated. The villages are free from all kind of pollution unlike cities. Like cities villages don't have big market and shops. Villages don't have roads and buildings like cities.

Ans: The villagers of Pakistan are very simple, straightforward and hardworking people. They lead a simple, happy and contented life close to the nature, quite unlike our modern city life. Their houses are different from those in biog cities. They are mostly mud plastered except a few. Usually the villagers go about on foot. They do not use any means of transportation for short distances. They eat natural and fresh foods. That is why they are healthy and strong.

THE VILLAGE LIFE IN PAKISTAN

The villagers are very simple and straightforward people. They lead a simple, happy and contented life. Their houses are mud-plastered. Most of the villagers are farmers. They wake up early in the morning. They work hard in their fields from dawn to dusk. They usually travel on foot. They enjoy fresh air and natural beauty, around them. That is why they are healthy and strong. In the villages, shops are few and scattered. The markets are not the same as in cities. The carpenter and the blacksmith are the two workmen, who are needed most in the village. They make and repair the farmers' tools and do other odd jobs.
Two other important persons in the, village are the primary school teacher and the "Imam" of the mosque. They both play important role in the village life of our country. There is a meeting place in every village known as Otaq. The villagers meet there in the evening. They talk about the weather, crops and village affairs and enjoy the folk songs. Just as otaq is the meeting place for men, the village well is the meeting place for women. Village life has its own charms. It is very pleasant to go and live there for a few days.

Ans: A farmer works in his fields from dawn to dusk all the year round. He works with a sickle in his hand reaping the crop under the scorching sun. Therefore, the farmer's life is a model of hard work.

Q.12: Briefly describe the ' Imam of the mosque?
Ans: The Imam of the mosque has a great influence on villagers, who look up to him for moral and religious guidance and for the treatment of minor ailments and common diseases of their children.
He also runs a 'Muktab' where he teaches the holy Quran to young children, for which he does not charge any fee but accepts small gifts like milk, butter or ghee from the parents of the children as
a token of love and affection.
