Q1) Define Physics and describe importance of physics in daily life. Also define any five branches  of physics.
Q2) Define Friction? Write down two advantages, disadvantages and methods of reducing friction?
Q3) Define Resolution of vector. Describe Head to tail rule.
Q4) What is equilibrium? Describe the condition of equilibrium?
Q5) Define Energy. Write down difference between Kinetic energy vs Potential energy. Also derive K.E = ½ mv2 and P.E = mgh
Q6) State Laws:
  1. Newton’s 1st, 2nd and 3rd law of motion
  2. Law of Principle of Momentum.
  3. Hooke’s Law
  4. Law of conservation of energy
Q7) State Newton Law of Gravitation derive the equation F = G m1m2 / r2
Q8) Give the scientific reason any three of the followings:
  1. It is dangerous to jump from fast moving vehicle.
  2. Why are gap left between two adjacent rails?
  3. Why do water bottles burst in deep freezes?
  4. Why it is difficult to stop a loaded trucks / when an unloaded truck?

Q11) Write down 3 differences between each of followings:-

Q12) What is artificial satellite and Natural satellite? Prove that the velocity of satellite orbiting around the earth is given:
𝑣 = √𝑔ℎ (𝑅𝐸 + ℎ)
Q13) Define linear thermal expansion and volumetric thermal expansion also derive formulas.
Q14) State and explain Boyle’s law. Also describe application of Boyle’s law in daily life.
Q20) Define centripetal force derives formula with factor of centripetal force.

NUMERICAL

1) A motorcycle is moving with a velocity of 72 km/hr on a straight road, when the brakes are applied the motorcycle comes to rest after covering a distance of 10 meters. Calculate its acceleration.
2) A car moving with a uniform acceleration attains a speed of 36 km/hr in 2 minutes; Find the acceleration of the car.
3) A stone is dropped from a tower. It reaches the ground in 5 seconds. Calculate the height of the tower.
4) A car is moving on a straight road at a speed of 5 m/s. It is accelerated at 3 m/s2. Calculate its velocity after 4 seconds.
5) The velocity of a car increases by an acceleration of 2 m/s2 and become 20 m/s in 5 second. Find the initial velocity of the car.
6) A car is moving with uniform acceleration and attains the velocity of 108 kmh-1 in 5 minutes. Find acceleration of the car.
7) A ball is dropped from a tower; it reaches the ground in 10 seconds. Calculate the height of the tower. (Take g= 10 m/s2)
8) A car starting from rest attains a velocity of 20 ms-1 in 5 seconds. Find the distance covered by the car.
9) A ball is dropped from a height of 122.5 m. How much time will it take to reach the ground?
10) A body of 20 Kg is moving with a speed of 15 m/s. Find its momentum.
11) A gun of mass 10 kg fires a bullet of mass 0.05 kg with a speed of 200 m/s. Calculate velocity of recoil of the gun.
12) A force of 100 N acts at an angle of 60° with the horizontal. Find its components.
13) A force of 50 N acts on a body. If the moment arm is 0.5 m find the value of the Torque.
14) A 5 m long beam pivoted in a wall, a force of 100 N is applied vertically at the far end of beam, Find the torque produced.
15) A stone of 200 gm mass tied to one end of a string of length 50 cm, is whirled from the other end in a circle with the constant speed of 2 m/s . Find tension in the string
16) A string 2 m long is used to whirl a 100 gm in horizontal circle at a speed of 2 m/s . Find tension in the string.
17) Compute the gravitational force of attraction between two boys of masses 50 kg and 40 kg respectively apart from each other by 2 m. (G = 6.67 x 10-11 N-m-2 / Kg2 )
18) A car is moving in a circular track of radius 30 m at a constant speed of 2 m/s. Find the centripetal acceleration of the car.
19) Find the work done when a force of 400 N acting at an angle of 60° with the ground moves an object to a distance of 10 meters along the ground. (Cos 60° = 0.5)
20) A force of 588 N acts on a box to move it at a distance of 4 m in 40 seconds.
21) With what constant velocity can a 1960 watt motor raise a mass of 100 kg
22) What is the Kinetic Energy (K.E) of 2000 Kg car travelling at a velocity of 90 Km/h?
23) 117.6 J heat is required to raise the temperature of 10 gm of silver by 50 °C; Find the specific heat of silver.
24) How much heat is required to raise the temperature of 100 kg of iron through 10 °C? (Specific heat of iron is 499.8 J/kg °C)
25) How much amount of heat is required to raise the temperature of 100 kg of water from 20 °C to 80 °C?
26) How much heat is required to raise the temperature of 800 g of iron through 50 °C? (Specific heat of iron is 499.8 J/kg °C)
27) Find the amount of heat required to convert 10 Kg ice at 0℃ into water without changing the temperature while latent heat of fusion of ice is 3366000 J/kg.
28)The “X” and “Y” components of a force vector F are 6 N and 8 N respectively. Find the magnitude and direction of vector F.
29) Find the pressure exerted by 450 N women putting all her weight on to one heel of area 2 cm x 2 cm
