Q.1: What did the Holy Prophet do for the sick?
Ans: He visited the sick regularly, comforted them and spoke kind words to them. He even visited his ailing enemies.

Ans: He established a hospital in Medina.

Q.3: Who was Florence Nightingale?
Ans: Florence Nightingale was born in Florence, Italy, in 1820. She belonged to a wealthy and cultured English family. She was the founder of modern nursing. She devoted her life to serve the suffering humanity.

Q.4: What was her aim in life?
Ans: Her aim in life was to serve suffering humanity and therefore inspite of being wealthy and being opposed by her family, she took up nursing.

Q.5: What did she do with the money offered to her by the British Government?
Ans: With the money offered to her by the British Government, Florence Nightingale founded an institution for training nurses in London.

Composition:

1- Describe the Muslim Contribution to nursing?  
Ans: Islam is religion of peace. The Muslims are kind and like to give peace and relief. It may be either in kind of a nurse. Nursing was also important at the days of our Holy Prophet. The nurses looked after the sick and patients even at the time of war. In the battle of Khyber Hazrat Ghafaria proved to be a very good nurse. Our Holy Prophet established the hospital at Medina, where good nurses were looking after the sick. Hazrat Fatima, the dearest daughter of our Holy Prophet; Hazrat Asma and many other ladies served the wounded in the battle fields. Islam gives great importance to Nursing.

2. Give an account of the life and work of Florence Nightingale? 
Ans: Florence Nightingale was the founder of modern nursing and one of the greatest women in history. She was born in Florence in Italy in 1820. She belonged to a noble English family. She was always thinking to serve the poor peoples to be a nurse and she proved to be a competent nurse. She was admitted in the institution of nursing in Germany. In 1854, she went to Crimean to manage the military hospitals. She served sincerely in the Crimean war. For her good work, she was a given a price of 45,000 as a prize for her good work. From this amount; she founded an institution for training of nurses in London. She will always be remembered as the founder of modern nursing. She was kind and she spent her whole life in serving the humanity.

Note: These are three forms of the verb. They are called present, past and past participle. Let us do some work today with the past participle of verbs. This form, as you know is used in the perfect tense or in the passive voice.

Examples:
1. I have written a letter.
2. A new map was drawn by me.
But these "participles" can also be used as " Adjectives" or qualifying words, e.g.
1. No written records are available about the people of Moen-jo-Daro.
2. It is difficult to drive through the crowded street.

Exercise: 
1. Fill in the blanks in the following sentences with participles formed from verbs in brackets:
(a) Educated girls of good families were not coming forward. (educate)
(c) Her parents were wealthy and cultured English people. (culture)
(d) Pakistan was defended by her dedicated soldiers in 1965 war. (dedicate)

2. Make past participles from the following verbs and then use them in sentences as verbs as well as adjectives:
