EFFECTS OF COVID-19 / QUARANTINE
Covid-19, the Global pandemic of 2020 started as a disease, in November 2019 in China but it soon spread like wildfire and took almost all of the planet under its effect. Since the disease was new, there was no vaccine or cure. The only way to contain it was to stay at home and have least human contact that is, stay quarantined.
The purpose of Quarantine was to control the spread of the virus and the people particularly those who tested positive were either sent to the hospitals or were advised to slay locked down at home so that they could not carry the virus to others Offices, restaurants, public places all were shut down in order to prevent the spread of disease as it seemed the only advantages option. Though quarantine helped prevent the spread of the virus but its side effect proved to be disastrous.
The major impact was observed on the global economy since all the businesses were closed due to the quarantine. The economy of the world started to collapse. The worst situation was observed by the underdeveloped Nations. Small businesses were completely destroyed. Many schools around The World were shut down due to which educational sector also faced a huge blow.
The psychological effects on the people around the world was far worse and devastating. Masses around the world started to go into depression due to financial reasons and other house problems. People around the world became aggressive due to idleness and boredom. Domestic violence was reported from around the globe and many psychological problems were seen to have a huge rise.
The social conditions of the world also changed for the worse since the Quarantine was imposed. No festivals or other social gatherings were hosted due to which people and families started to drift apart. Even when quarantine was made lenient people were advised to stay socially distant and follow precautions such as wearing a mask all the times they were out of the house.
Huge population of the world lost their jobs since the businesses were at collapse. Many large companies started to fire their employees. Job security was completely compromised. Many businesses were so much devastated that they could never rebuild, leaving people jobless as a result of Quarantine.
In conclusion we can say that even though that imposed Quarantine slowed down the spread of the virus but the cost at which we did it was very high.
