Journey By Train - An English Essay

A JOURNEY BY TRAIN

The journey by train is a unique and captivating experience that offers a sense of adventure, relaxation, and excitement. As the train chugs along the tracks, it takes you on a winding path through the countryside, cityscapes, and mountains, offering breathtaking views and a chance to unwind.

In this summer vacation I went to Lahore from Karachi by train. It was the month of November and the climate was neither cold nor hot. I had a comfortable seat by the side of the window of the compartment. It was very pleasant journey. I saw green paddy fields, sugar cane crops, lot of scattered trees which appeared for a while and passed away. There were trucks and Lorries and buses and all kinds of vehicles running on the road which runs side by side the railway line, sometimes very near and other places somewhat away from the railway track. The sky was clean and the water in the branches of canals glittered and the green fields around them presented beautiful sight. All were the pleasant scenes but in a second they appeared and in the other they vanished.

As the train was moving in full speed they appeared like passing troops and only their glimpses could be seen for very short spells. Anyhow I enjoyed my journey by rail very much. My journey by train is an experience that combines comfort, convenience, scenery of the beauty of nature, social interaction, and much more. This journey of a train has left me feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and inspired.

The Green Train, also known as the Pakistan Railways' Business Express, is one of the most popular and luxurious trains in Pakistan. The train travels from Karachi to Islamabad, covering a distance of over 1,300 kilometers in about 20 hours. As I embarked on this journey, I was excited to experience the thrill of traveling through the scenic routes of Pakistan.

As the train chugged out of Karachi Cantt Station, I was struck by the vibrant energy of the city. The train's sleek green coaches and gleaming stainless steel body glistened in the sunlight, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and nostalgia for this iconic mode of transportation. The train was almost full, with passengers from all walks of life – business executives, families, and students – all eager to reach their destinations.

As we left the city behind, the train entered the fertile plains of Sindh and Punjab. The landscape outside changed dramatically, with lush green fields of wheat and cotton stretching as far as the eye could see. We passed through small villages and towns, where people waved and smiled as we rumbled by. The train's horn would blow occasionally, breaking the silence and sending a wave of excitement through the passengers.

The train has a range of amenities to keep passengers entertained and comfortable. The seats were plush and cushioned, with ample legroom and adjustable headrests. The air-conditioning was effective, keeping the temperature cool and comfortable despite the scorching summer heat outside. The food was an unexpected surprise – a delicious spread of Pakistani cuisine, including biryani, kebabs, and sweet pastries.

As we crossed into the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the landscape became more rugged and mountainous. The train wound its way through tunnels and over bridges, offering breathtaking views of the valleys and mountains below. We passed through the scenic towns of Mansehra and Abbottabad, where people were busy with their daily activities despite the train's presence.

Finally, after 20 hours on the move, we arrived at Islamabad Rawalpindi Station. As we disembarked, I felt a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. The journey had been long and arduous, but it was also an experience unlike any other. I had seen the beauty of Pakistan's landscapes, interacted with people from different walks of life, and enjoyed a range of amenities that made my journey comfortable.

In conclusion, my journey on the Green Train from Karachi to Islamabad was an unforgettable experience. The train's luxury amenities, scenic routes, and friendly staff made it a journey to remember. As I left the station, I couldn't help but feel grateful for this mode of transportation that connects Pakistan's cities and towns. The Green Train is a symbol of Pakistan's rich history and culture, and it will continue to be a beloved mode of transportation for generations to come.

The journey by train is a unique and captivating experience that offers a sense of adventure, relaxation, and excitement. As the train chugs along the tracks, it takes you on a winding path through the countryside, cityscapes, and mountains, offering breathtaking views and a chance to unwind.

One of the most appealing aspects of traveling by train is the sense of freedom and flexibility it offers. Unlike flying, which can be stressful and time-consuming, traveling by train allows you to move at your own pace, with the option to stop at any station or city along the way. You can take in the sights, sounds, and smells of the journey without feeling rushed or confined.

Another advantage of traveling by train is the comfort and amenities it provides. Modern trains are equipped with comfortable seats, ample legroom, and onboard amenities such as food and beverage services, restrooms, and even Wi-Fi. You can sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride, knowing that you'll arrive at your destination feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

But it's not just about the physical comforts – traveling by train is also a sensory experience that engages your senses and awakens your imagination. As you gaze out the window, you can watch the world go by – rolling hills, dense forests, bustling cities, and quaint villages. You can see the landscape change with each passing mile, as the seasons ebb and flow, and the light of day gives way to the twinkling stars of night.

Moreover, traveling by train allows you to connect with people from different walks of life. You can strike up conversations with fellow travelers, share stories and experiences, and learn about their cultures and traditions. You can also meet friendly train staff who are always happy to help or provide advice on where to go or what to see.

In addition to its practical advantages, traveling by train also has a romantic appeal that evokes a sense of nostalgia and adventure. Imagine yourself sitting in a plush seat, watching the sun rise over the mountains or set over the sea, feeling like you're part of a grand adventure. You can relive memories of past journeys or create new ones with loved ones.

Finally, traveling by train is also an eco-friendly option that reduces your carbon footprint compared to flying or driving. With fewer passengers per trip than cars or planes, trains are a more sustainable way to travel, reducing air pollution and noise pollution.

In conclusion, traveling by train is an experience that combines comfort, convenience, scenery, social interaction, romance, and sustainability. Whether you're heading to work or school, exploring a new city or returning home after a long trip, taking the train is a journey that will leave you feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and inspired.

Eid Celebration - An Essay

EID CELEBRATIONS

Introduction
Eid, one of the most significant religious festivals in Islam, is celebrated by millions of Muslims around the world. It marks the end of Ramadan, a month of fasting, prayer, and reflection. Eid is a time of joy, gratitude, and community, bringing together families and friends to celebrate the blessings of life. This essay will explore the significance of Eid, the traditions associated with its celebration, and the values it promotes within the Muslim community.

Significance of Eid
Eid is celebrated in two forms: Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. Eid al-Fitr, which translates to "Festival of Breaking the Fast," occurs at the conclusion of Ramadan. It is a day of gratitude to Allah for the strength and patience shown during the month of fasting. Eid al-Adha, or "Festival of Sacrifice," commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son in obedience to God's command. Both Eids serve as reminders of faith, sacrifice, and the importance of community.

Traditions of Eid Celebration
The celebration of Eid is rich with traditions that vary across cultures but share common elements. One of the most important practices is the special prayer known as the "Eid prayer," performed in congregation at mosques or open fields. This prayer is usually held in the morning and is followed by a sermon that emphasizes the values of compassion, charity, and community.

Another significant aspect of Eid is the giving of "Zakat al-Fitr," a form of charity intended to purify those who fast from any indecent act or speech and to help the less fortunate. This act of giving ensures that everyone, regardless of their financial situation, can partake in the festivities.

Feasting is a central part of Eid celebrations. Families prepare a variety of traditional dishes, often featuring sweets and delicacies that are unique to their culture. Sharing meals with family and friends fosters a sense of unity and joy, reinforcing the bonds of community.

In many cultures, it is customary to wear new or special clothes for Eid. This practice symbolizes renewal and the joy of the occasion. Children often receive gifts or "Eidi," which adds to the festive atmosphere and makes the day even more special for them.

Values Promoted by Eid
Eid celebrations promote several core values that are essential to the Islamic faith and community life. One of the most prominent values is compassion. The emphasis on charity and helping those in need during Eid encourages individuals to be mindful of the less fortunate and to contribute positively to society.

Another important value is unity. Eid serves as a reminder of the importance of community and family. It brings people together, fostering relationships and strengthening social bonds. The collective prayers and celebrations create a sense of belonging and shared identity among Muslims.

Lastly, Eid encourages gratitude. It is a time to reflect on the blessings in one’s life and to express thankfulness to Allah for His mercy and provisions. This sense of gratitude extends beyond the individual, promoting a culture of appreciation within the community.

Conclusion
Eid celebrations are a vibrant expression of faith, community, and gratitude. They serve as a reminder of the core values of Islam, including compassion, unity, and thankfulness. As Muslims around the world come together to celebrate Eid, they not only honor their religious beliefs but also strengthen the bonds of family and community. In a world that often feels divided, the spirit of Eid offers a powerful message of love, generosity, and togetherness, making it a cherished occasion for millions.

Dignity Of Labour - An English Essay

THE DIGNITY OF LABOUR

Special Thanks To Aلi Sheiخ

By labour we generally mean work done by hands. Unfortunately, this word is used in a negative sense. There is nothing shameful in it. People having narrow mind refer the word labour to professions adopted by carpenters, masons and their assistants. They also associate them with lower middle class of society. As a matter of fact these professions are benefactors of society. They play a vital role for peace and prosperity of our life. For example, mason builds a house to shelter us, a tailor sews clothes to cover our body and a farmer tills the soil to feed us.

We should not ignore that no office peon is employed in any office of the advanced countries because in those countries every office worker feels no shame in doing the peon work himself. We are Muslims and unfortunately we feel it below our dignity.

If we read the history of nations like Japan, China, Germany etc., we shall learn that their economic development is based on attaching dignity to manual work. On the other hand our Pakistan engineer will feel it below his dignity to join two wires and will say that it is the work of his subordinate mechanic.

In Islam all human beings are equal. Islam does not allow distinction on the basis of profession. The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) used to work with his own hands. He carried bricks for the construction of mosque and did not feel ashamed in mending his outworn shoes. In Islam honest work of all kinds is worth respecting. Even a sweeper deserves respect. In Islam work is worship.

Unfortunately we ignore the bright example set by Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) and consider manual work as undignified. We also look down upon the labour class.

People should change their thinking and should not hesitate in doing their jobs. This spirit will improve our economic condition. In the advanced countries the major cause of development is that dignity of labour has got its due importance.

In Pakistan, there is large number of people who are working in the houses of landlords. They only take the meal and clothes and serve like slaves. Today every rich man always wish to have a large number of servants in his home.
We have misused the concept of labour and this is the major cause of backwardness in our country. If we want to improve our economic condition, we should give equal status to the labour class in the society.

OR

A Short Essay On
"Dignity Of Life"

Man is supreme in all creatures on the Earth. While it is the labour which provides him a high position in society. The beauty of life, in fact rests with hard work. There exist two types of labour in our society. Some adopt the profession of mental labour such as the teachers and advocates etc. while others keep themselves attached with physical labour such as carpenters or cobblers. It counts little whether a person does mental work or manual work. The more important is that pain which he takes to accomplish his work. God loves those who take pain in 'Rizq Halal'. Thus a man who believes in dignity of labour he in fact believes in dignity of life.

Careless Driving - An English Essay

THE CARELESS DRIVING

Introduction
Careless driving is a significant issue that poses a serious threat to road safety worldwide. It encompasses a range of behaviors that demonstrate a lack of attention, consideration, and responsibility while operating a vehicle. This essay will explore the causes and consequences of careless driving, as well as potential solutions to mitigate this dangerous behavior.

Causes of Careless Driving
Several factors contribute to careless driving. One of the primary causes is distracted driving, which has become increasingly prevalent with the rise of mobile technology. Drivers who engage with their phones—whether texting, calling, or using social media—are significantly more likely to cause accidents. According to studies, texting while driving can increase the risk of a crash by up to 23 times.
Another contributing factor is speeding. Many drivers underestimate the dangers of exceeding the speed limit, believing they can maintain control of their vehicle. However, higher speeds reduce reaction times and increase the severity of accidents. Additionally, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs severely impairs judgment and coordination, leading to reckless behavior on the road.

Consequences of Careless Driving
The consequences of careless driving are dire and far-reaching. The most immediate impact is the increased likelihood of accidents, which can result in injuries or fatalities for drivers, passengers, and pedestrians alike. According to the World Health Organization, road traffic injuries are a leading cause of death globally, with careless driving being a significant contributor.
Beyond the physical harm, careless driving also has economic implications. The costs associated with accidents—medical expenses, vehicle repairs, and legal fees—can be substantial. Furthermore, careless driving can lead to increased insurance premiums for individuals and a financial burden on healthcare systems.

Solutions to Mitigate Careless Driving
Addressing the issue of careless driving requires a multifaceted approach. Education and awareness campaigns are essential in informing drivers about the dangers of distracted driving, speeding, and driving under the influence. Schools, community organizations, and government agencies can collaborate to promote safe driving practices.

Law enforcement also plays a crucial role in curbing careless driving. Stricter penalties for violations, such as fines and license suspensions, can deter reckless behavior. Additionally, the implementation of technology, such as speed cameras and breathalyzer ignition interlocks, can help monitor and enforce safe driving practices.

Finally, fostering a culture of responsibility on the road is vital. Encouraging drivers to hold themselves and others accountable can create a safer driving environment. This includes promoting the use of designated drivers, advocating for the use of hands-free devices, and encouraging drivers to take breaks when feeling fatigued.

Conclusion
Careless driving is a preventable issue that requires immediate attention from individuals, communities, and governments. By understanding the causes and consequences of this behavior and implementing effective solutions, we can work towards reducing accidents and making our roads safer for everyone. It is imperative that we all take responsibility for our actions behind the wheel and commit to safe driving practices to protect ourselves and others on the road.

OR

Apart from all others, transport is perhaps the most painful problem in all big cities. We the Karachiites have also been facing it since long. A number of accidents take place on our roads every day. In this connection, the main responsible factor is that careless driving.

Often it appears that the public vehicle's drivers are free from all rules and regulations in particular. They drive the buses even on narrow roads in high speed. Overtaking is the common trend of all of them. Their careless driving as such puts a number of lives to an almost daily. People protest against it and the newspapers depict the consequences of this practice but to no avail.

In fact, there should be now very strict regulations for the careless drivers while common man should also observe the traffic rules to save himself from aforesaid dacoits of life.

Aim In Life / The Career I would Like To Adopt

AIM IN LIFE
THE CAREER I WOULD LIKE TO ADOPT

By NCR - CET
The word 'aim' contains within itself the significance of achieving innovative maintenance. According to Robert Browning,
"Aim, if reached or not, makes life great."
An aim is like a guiding star; it varies from person to person. Some people want to become doctors, others want to become engineers, and some want to become professors. I want to become a professor of English literature.

Some people dislike my idea of becoming a professor. They question why I should choose this profession. Ever since I gained some understanding of the world, I knew that I would have to make my choice sooner or later. I have, therefore, evaluated the prospects of various leading occupations in my country. In the course of my examination, I sorted out the teaching profession.

There are several compelling reasons why I have selected this profession. The major reason is the exemplary model of my Holy Prophet, who set an example as a teacher. Other professions make me giddy. I have often thought about becoming a doctor, but as a doctor, I would have to bid goodbye to recreation and rest. An engineer builds and lives like a machine, but what my profession gives, and will give me, is truly commendable.

My choice or aim may cause a sneer in certain circles, but it is valuable. A teacher is an engineer-maker, a doctor-maker, and much more. His profession not only imparts knowledge but also worth. He builds generations for the country. He inculcates the teachings of the Holy Prophet. A book is supposed to be a source of knowledge, but it is said:
"A book is a dead teacher, while a teacher is a living book."

In short, my profession is not only a job but also a source of respect. A teacher is the key to knowledge. Hazrat Ali, Hazrat Umar, Newton, Einstein, and others achieved their positions in the world due to the influence of their teachers. They remained under the guidance of their teachers, who were commanded by their Great Teacher, God.

OR

When I was reading in my 8th class, my science teacher advised my father to make me a doctor as he was highly pleased with my keen interest and extraordinary proficiency in science subjects. Next year I had to leave my village middle school and my high school was 7 kilometres away from my village. All my high school friends were very regular and punctual our science teachers used to check our homework daily. They earnestly sincerely appreciated my scientific trend particularly towards biology. It is creditable on my part that every time I world stands first in all my subjects. The Karachi Board secondary school examination result showed my fifth top position.

My father's friends unanimously advised him to, seek my admission in F.Sc. pro-medical class. My father asked my option. So far I had actually never thought of making any choice of my profession. Therefore very innocently I requested my father to decide himself. He told me that he would not go against my preference. Naturally it was not easy for me to decide. Internally I also preferred to take admission in some medical college for which I came to know that high first class in F.Sc. medical group was an inevitable (unavoidable) prerequisite (prior condition).

Fortunately one of my cousins was studying in the Federal Government Science College, Clifton, Karachi. He took me to his college. I was astonished to see its 4 storied building. My cousin told me that If I took admission in his college, I would benefit receive an advantage most from its ultra-modern laboratories and foreign qualified staff. I therefore communicated my option to my father. He was very pleased to hear that I preferred to be a doctor.

It is the labour, which makes a person successful while the dignity of labour rests with our own efforts to get the goals of confidence. Nature has accorded us the energy and strength. It is therefore, our duty to go ahead in our efforts to the possible extent without seeking the help of others.

Co-operation is certainly a good trend of society but it doesn't mean that we may consider others to be responsible for the completion of our own work. It is the self-help, which provides real happiness in completion of some work. People believe in the proverb,
"Nothing is impossible on the Earth".
Because word "impossible" it self says that I M POSSIBLE.
but they do not prove it by practice. We should be confident of our own energy and should leave that habit of securing the help of others in our own business.

It's a rainy day today! I am sitting at my window and watching the beauty of nature. This is great sight! I love the scenes the nature has created today. Let me share it with you! Discipline - An Essay

DISCIPLINE
The Foundation of Success

Discipline is often regarded as a cornerstone of personal and professional success. It is the practice of training oneself to follow a set of rules or a code of behavior, which can lead to the achievement of goals and the development of a strong character. In a world filled with distractions and temptations, discipline serves as a guiding principle that helps individuals stay focused and committed to their objectives.

At its core, discipline involves self-control and the ability to make choices that align with long-term goals rather than succumbing to immediate gratification. For instance, a student who prioritizes studying over socializing demonstrates discipline by recognizing that their efforts will yield greater rewards in the future, such as academic success and career opportunities. Similarly, an athlete who adheres to a rigorous training schedule exemplifies discipline by sacrificing short-term comforts for long-term achievements.

The importance of discipline extends beyond individual pursuits; it also plays a crucial role in fostering a productive society. In the workplace, disciplined employees contribute to a culture of accountability and efficiency. They meet deadlines, adhere to company policies, and work collaboratively with their colleagues. This collective discipline not only enhances productivity but also builds a sense of trust and reliability within teams.

Moreover, discipline is essential for personal development. It encourages individuals to cultivate positive habits, such as regular exercise, healthy eating, and continuous learning. These habits, rooted in discipline, contribute to overall well-being and personal growth. For example, someone who commits to a daily exercise routine is likely to experience improved physical health, increased energy levels, and enhanced mental clarity.

However, it is important to recognize that discipline is not synonymous with rigidity. While it requires commitment and consistency, it also allows for flexibility and adaptation. Life is unpredictable, and the ability to adjust one’s plans while maintaining a disciplined approach is crucial. This balance enables individuals to navigate challenges and setbacks without losing sight of their goals.

In conclusion, discipline is a vital attribute that underpins success in various aspects of life. It empowers individuals to make informed choices, fosters a productive environment, and promotes personal growth. By cultivating discipline, individuals can unlock their potential and pave the way for a fulfilling and successful life. As the saying goes, "Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment," highlighting its indispensable role in achieving one’s aspirations.

If Pakistan is interested in getting in to the trade with the western countries for advanced technology, mechanics, information technology and other aspects they need to first get to know the language in which the dealing and negotiation will take place because if the communication barrier is not removed than no advancement and no advantage will be taken from all such dealings and negotiations and at the same time it is also being assumed as the shame for the national people if the officials and the representations of the state are unable to communicate on any international media with any international personality and feels hesitant in using this language. Ornamental approach towards the acquiring of the English language should be adopted as it is one of the national issues faced by the people of Pakistan.

A Cricket match (Between Schools) - An Essay

A CRICKET MATCH
(Between schools)

Last month we played a one-day cricket match with the team of on their invitation of A.B.C. School. We took it not as a match but a challenge and reached the ground on the fixed time. Being Sunday, schools were closed so a large number of students from both schools were present there. There was also a great presence of our teachers to screw up our courage to play better and win the match. This match became more important because the Mayor (Chairperson) of city also came on our request. We all were introduced to him at a quarter to ten.

Our captain won the toss and we decided to bat first. The match began at ten in the morning. Both sides played well. Our team was out by lunchtime and we had scored 279 runs. The other team started playing after lunch. They were out by four thirty. Their total score was 217. Thus, our team won the match by 62 runs. We were very happy.

Our captain was declared to be the man of the match. The Mayor of our city gave us the victory shield. Our principal announced rupees ten thousand for every player of our team and rupees twenty thousand for our captain.

Essay On - Traffic Jams In Karachi / Traffic Hazards In Karachi

TRAFFIC JAMS IN KARACHI

Traffic situation in Karachi is getting worse with each passing day. On one hand vehicles are increasing exponentially while roads are getting blocked due to the mega-development drive in the city. There are numerous reasons for traffic congestion in the city; some of these are:
  • Road Construction
  • Encroachments
  • Manual Traffic Control
  • Lack of Civic Sense

The ever-increasing rush of heavy traffic on the roads is resulting in heavy loss of human life. One day or the other, people suffer from accidents due to reckless driving. Some lose their vehicles and some go to the police. This is due to lack of civic sense in the citizens and violation of traffic rules.

Traffic jams, road quarrels, untidiness and damage of public property are also a result of this problem. Solving traffic related issues is certainly no easy task and requires lot of research and planning. Considering the availability of resources and funds, it is best to utilize what is readily available rather than opting for brand-new solution which cause more strain on tax payers' pockets.

For example, the circular railway system, if properly launched, can reduce pressure from the vehicular traffic. While there was some progress on Karachi Mass Transit Program, it falls prey of various political agendas and went down the drain. The idea is to try to tie the knot the small size and efficiency of a motorcycle with the comfort and safety of a standard car.

Traffic Hazards In Karachi

By Sir Khalid Khan (Anees Hussain)
The hazards of traffic in Karachi are increasing day by day. Every day a large number of people are killed or made disabled by accidents. In Karachi, accidents have become so common, that now people have become indifferent to them.

Only the relatives of people killed those wounded and the suffers can sense the seriousness of the accidents. Not only this, people in Karachi deliberately break the traffic rules just for the sake of reaching their destination early. Due to this, there are traffic jams in the peak hours. This had been very often in Ramadan at the lftar time.

The public, transport of Karachi is mainly in the hands of drivers of minibuses and buses. They are mostly illiterate and get licenses somehow. The buses never stop at the bus stops but ahead or behind the actual bus stops. In addition to this often the drivers stop then vehicles right in the middle of the road. The whole traffic behind is blocked. Home begins to sound loudly but she concerned driver turns a deaf ear to the horns.

He takes off only when the passengers including ladies get into the bus. It is high time that the authorities should think seriously about traffic hazards. Driving licenses must be given after strict examination and checking. Those found not eligible should be rejected. Moreover, the drivers should be made to follow traffic rules, and those found not doing this, should be seriously dealt with.

Our School Picnic OR A Picnic - An Essay

OUR SCHOOL PICNIC OR A PICNIC

When our teacher told us that we are going for a picnic to Fun Valley, I couldn't sleep that night. Next morning, I got up at 7 O'clock. After taking a bath, I wore my school uniform. I picked up my water bottle and picnic bag and came to school. We made our line and came down. Sister took our photographs.

At 9:30 A.M., we came down in a queue, sat inside the bus and started our journey to highway. At 12:30 P.M. we reached at the Fun Valley. We all got down from the bus and started walking towards the amusement park. The water park has rides like lazy river, multiple water slides and kids pool. The amusement park has Go karting for seniors and kids, Dodging Cars for senior and kids, Dragon Coaster, Baby Train, Mini Tele-combat, Hedge Maze, Jumping Frog, Inflatable and Coin Games. We enjoyed Go karting and water slides. Amongst the special attraction for children are go-carting, country's longest water slide and the biggest wave pool in Pakistan. The Fun Valley is uniquely designed as place for wholesome entertainment as family center.

It is an overnight stay resort with beautiful cottages, and highway motel-cum-rest stop incorporating multi-cuisine food court and shopping arcade. At 2:00 pm, we took our lunch. We were served with a delicious food and ice cream as dessert. After having our food we played many games. Right at 4:00 pm. we started our journey back to School Campus. We reached back to school in an hour. Though it was tiring but we enjoyed our School Picnic.

Science is a Curse - an Essay

SCIENCE IS CURSE
A Critical Perspective

Science has long been heralded as a beacon of progress, illuminating the path to understanding the natural world and improving the human condition. However, a critical examination reveals that science can also be perceived as a curse, bringing with it a host of unintended consequences that challenge the very fabric of society and the environment. This essay explores the darker side of scientific advancement, focusing on ethical dilemmas, environmental degradation, and the potential for misuse of scientific knowledge.

Ethical Dilemmas:
One of the most significant concerns regarding science is the ethical dilemmas it presents. As scientific knowledge expands, so too does the capacity for its application in ways that can harm rather than help humanity. For instance, advancements in genetic engineering and biotechnology have raised profound ethical questions about the manipulation of life itself. The ability to edit genes, while promising in terms of eradicating diseases, also opens the door to eugenics and the creation of "designer babies." Such practices could exacerbate social inequalities and lead to a society where genetic traits determine one's worth.
Moreover, the development of artificial intelligence (AI) poses ethical challenges that society is still grappling with. The potential for AI to replace human jobs, invade privacy, and even make life-and-death decisions raises questions about accountability and moral responsibility. As we venture further into the realm of AI, the risk of creating systems that operate beyond human control becomes increasingly plausible, leading to a future where technology dictates human existence rather than serving it.

Environmental Degradation:
Another aspect of science that can be viewed as a curse is its contribution to environmental degradation. The industrial revolution, fueled by scientific advancements, has led to unprecedented economic growth and improved living standards. However, this progress has come at a significant cost to the planet. The exploitation of natural resources, driven by scientific and technological advancements, has resulted in deforestation, pollution, and climate change.
The reliance on fossil fuels, a product of scientific innovation, has led to a global crisis that threatens the very existence of countless species, including humans. Despite the scientific community's efforts to develop renewable energy sources, the transition has been slow, and the damage inflicted on the environment continues to escalate. This paradox highlights how science, while intended to improve life, can also contribute to its destruction.

Misuse of Scientific Knowledge:
The potential for the misuse of scientific knowledge is another reason why science can be seen as a curse. Throughout history, scientific advancements have been weaponized for destructive purposes. The development of nuclear weapons during World War II exemplifies how scientific progress can lead to catastrophic consequences. The bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki serve as a stark reminder of the destructive power of science when wielded without ethical consideration.
Furthermore, the proliferation of misinformation in the digital age has been exacerbated by scientific advancements in communication technology. The ability to spread false information rapidly can undermine public trust in legitimate scientific research, leading to dangerous consequences, such as vaccine hesitancy and the denial of climate change. This misuse of scientific knowledge not only endangers public health but also threatens the collective efforts to address global challenges.

Conclusion:
In conclusion, while science has undoubtedly contributed to human progress and understanding, it is essential to recognize its potential as a curse. The ethical dilemmas, environmental degradation, and misuse of scientific knowledge present significant challenges that society must confront. As we continue to advance scientifically, it is crucial to approach these developments with caution, ensuring that ethical considerations and environmental sustainability are at the forefront of scientific inquiry. Only by acknowledging the darker aspects of science can we strive to harness its power for the greater good, rather than allowing it to become a source of harm.

Environmental pollution

Environmental pollution is a global issue, and Pakistan is no exception. In recent years, Pakistan has witnessed a significant rise in environmental pollution, which poses a severe threat to the health of citizens and the sustainability of the ecosystem. Several factors contribute to environmental pollution in Pakistan, including industrialization, urbanization, population growth, and lack of awareness among the general public.

One of the major contributors to environmental pollution in Pakistan is the industrial sector. The country has a significant number of industries that operate without proper regulations and supervision, leading to the emission of harmful chemicals and pollutants into the air, water, and soil. The industrial waste disposal system is also inadequate, leading to the accumulation of hazardous waste in the environment.

Urbanization is another contributing factor to environmental pollution in Pakistan. Rapid urbanization has led to an increase in traffic, construction activities, and the use of fossil fuels, resulting in air pollution. The use of outdated and poorly maintained vehicles is also a significant contributor to air pollution in urban areas.

Population growth in Pakistan is also a concern when it comes to environmental pollution. The increase in population leads to more waste production, inadequate waste management, and a higher demand for energy, which results in greater environmental degradation.

Finally, lack of awareness and environmental education among the general public is a significant contributor to environmental pollution in Pakistan. Many people are unaware of the harmful effects of pollution on their health and the environment. As a result, they engage in practices that contribute to environmental pollution, such as littering, burning garbage, and using plastic bags.

To tackle environmental pollution in Pakistan, there is a need for collective efforts from the government, industries, and citizens. The government should implement and enforce environmental laws and regulations to reduce pollution levels. Industries should adopt eco-friendly practices, including proper waste disposal and the use of renewable energy sources. Citizens should be educated on the importance of the environment and the impact of their actions on the ecosystem.

In conclusion, environmental pollution in Pakistan is a significant problem that requires urgent attention. The issue affects not only the health of citizens but also the sustainability of the ecosystem. It is essential to take collective action to tackle environmental pollution in Pakistan, including implementing and enforcing environmental regulations, adopting eco-friendly practices, and educating citizens on the importance of the environment.

Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah is my favourite personality. He was born at Karachi on 25th December 1876. His father was a leading merchant of Karachi. He received his primary education at Karachi and Bombay. He passed his matriculation examination from the Mission High School, Bombay and went to England for studying law. He was called to the bar in 1896.

He started his legal practice at Karachi in 1896. Next year he shifted to Bombay and in a short time won great distinction as a barrister. From 1930 to 1934 he practised in England at the Privy Council and established himself as a lawyer of the first order. On his return to India, he resumed practice at Bombay.

In the meanwhile he had developed keen interest in politics when he was studying law in England. Therefore, he joined Indian National Congress to work for the self-government for India. He became member of the All-India Muslim League also and retained membership of both the parties for a long time. Jinnah worked as a mediator between the two parties and tried to bring about understanding between the Muslims and the Hindus. In acknowledgement of his services and popularity the "Jinnah Hall" was built in Bombay.

When the Indian National Congress rejected the Montagu-Chelmsford Scheme of 1918 and launched a non-co-operation movement, Jinnah left the Congress. He did not agree with the non-co-operation movement because he considered it a departure from the policy of constitutional agitation. From this time onward he became the most determined critic and opponent of all the policies of Gandhi. He was convinced that the Hindus were pursuing a deliberate policy. Hindu domination over the entire sub-continent of India.

As a result Muhammad Ali Jinnah soon became the voice of the Muslims of India. He formulated their demands and presented them in the form of the famous Fourteen Points in 1929. In 1934 he undertook the arduous work of uniting the various Muslim groups undner the banner of the Muslim League. He also re-organised the Muslim League to make it an active and united organisation. Under his inspiring and able leadership the Muslim League contested elections in 1935 and swept the polls in the Punjab, Sindh and Bengal.

With the passage of time more and more Muslims were joining the Muslim League. Other Muslim parties in Bengal and Punjab accepted the leadership of Jinnah and also joined the League. In 1940 the Muslim League passed the famous Lahore Resolution demanding Pakistan a sovereign Muslim State, comprising the Muslim majority areas of India.

Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah showed great ability and tremendous courage in his struggle for Pakistan. He countered the shrewd moves of the Congress and was able to change the view of the British Government. His lifelong struggle was crowned with success on 14th August 1947, when Pakistan came into being.

The Quaid-e-Azam became the first Governor-General of Pakistan. He worked day and night for the consolidation and progress of the country. His health had been failing for many years; now the great responsibilities of the state wrecked his health, and he passed away on September 11, 1948. He is really a great hero and father of our nation.
