Medical Prescription - Rx
MEDICAL PRESCRIPTION - Rx
The word "prescription", derived from "pre-" ("before") and "script" ("writing, written"), or in literal terms its means, "to write before" a drug can be prepared, thus a medical prescription is an order usually in written form by a qualified health care professional or other therapist for the treatment to be provided to their patient. The prescription" is represent by a symbol "Rx". Rx is a transliteration of a symbol. There are various theories as to the origin of this symbol but in literal terms, "Rx" indicates an instruction "to take" what is specified in the prescription.
What is unique for each prescription is the name of the patient, date, the details of the medication and the directions for taking them. The prescription should be appropriately signed by the physician prescribing it.
MEDICAL PRESCRIBES
Prescriptions are typically handwritten on pre-printed prescription forms, or may alternatively be using computer these days. The prescription should contain the name and address of the prescribing doctor and any other legal requirement such as registration number of the physician. In the United States, physicians, veterinarians, dentists, and podiatrists can issue prescriptions. Some states may allow optometrists to issue eyeglass prescriptions for corrective eyeglasses though technically these cannot be termed as medical prescriptions. Even nurse practitioners, physician assistants, optometrists, homeopathic physicians, registered pharmacists, and doctors of some other branches of medicine do have the authority to prescribe.
LIST OF PRESCRIPTION ABBREVIATIONS
This is a list of all abbreviations used in prescriptions.
Note: List will be updated soon
To avoid ambiguity, the following abbreviations are not recommended:
- a.u., a.d., a.s. - Latin for both, left and right ears; the "a" can be misread to be an "o" and interpreted to mean both, right or left eyes.
- d/c - can mean "discontinue" or "discharge"
- h.s. - can mean half strength or "hour of sleep"
- q.o.d. - meant "every other day" but the "o" can be interpreted as "." or "i" resulting in double or eight times the frequency
- SC/SQ - meant "subcutaneous" but mistaken for "SL" for "sublingual"
- TIW - meant 3 times a week but mistaken for twice a week
- U - meant "units" but mistaken for "0", "4" or "cc" when poorly written; conversely cc can be mistaken for "U"
- μg - meant "microgram" but mistaken for "mg"; this 1000-fold error can cause potentially fatal misunderstandings.

Essay On - Importance Of Dams
Importance Of Dams
The dam are actually a kind of wall which are constructed to stop the flow of water from rivers. This process helps in storage of water, the water which is stored with the help of dams can be used for many purposes. Pakistan is a country where rainfall is uncertain therefore dams play very important role in storage of water.
After the creation of Pakistan, Canal water dispute was appeared between Pakistan and India for the settlement of this dispute Indus basin treat was signed. After this agreement Pakistan constructed many barrages link canal and dams to make the continuous supply of water to meets to country requirement. Pakistan is an agricultural country and its economy depends upon agriculture. A lot of water is required for growing the crops, hence dams are a big source of the supply of water for agriculture.
The dams are also a source of multiple purpose project because the water which is Stored in dams has potential energy which can be converted into other kinds of energy which is used for different purposes. Hydro electricity which is produced by water is generated from the water which has been stored in dam. Many hydro power projects in Pakistan are working at the places where dams have been constructed.
The drinking water is supplied to different areas of Karachi from hub dam. Tarbela dam on river Indus and Mangla dam on river Jhelum are playing an important role in supplying water to agricultural fields. In short dams are the burning question of Pakistan by the time presently . They should be given attention before yet if still people and government of Pakistan determine to struggle for building dams Bhasha and Diamer dam it is hoped that soon we will be able to overcome this dine problem and will report India in its devilish conspiracy to beat and de-economize Pakistan.

Problems Of Karachi City /
Karachi Problems
Karachi is the biggest city of Pakistan and also one of the most thickly populated cities in the world. Its population has increased rapidly and accordingly has given rise to many social problems. People of this metropolis are becoming more and more concerned about solving these serious problems, some of which are discussed below.
The ever-increasing rush of heavy traffic on the roads is resulting in heavy loss of human life. One day or the other, people suffer from accidents due to reckless driving . Some lose their vehicle and some go to the police . This is due to lack of civic sense in the citizens and violation of traffic rules . Traffic jams, road quarrels, untidiness and damage of public property is also a result of this problem. The government has not done any planning to control this situation in the past two decades.
In the same manner, the government has never emphasized about population distribution. As a result, Slum areas are rapidly being built, where poor labor lives . The disordered development of small houses is spoiling the outlook of the city. As well as creating problems of illegal electric connections, water supply and population. The authorities have failed to reclaim the Locations from these people.
The academic career of children in Karachi is unpredictable due to lack of good schools and institution. The recreational institutions, parks and playgrounds is also felt at time and most of all joblessness creates problem for poor people.
Another problem faced by the citizens of the city is the frequent power breakdown. Every other day, K.E.S.C cuts down the Electric Supply without notice. This becomes a great hurdle for industries and professional that use electric machinery for their work.
Disturbance and shortage of water supply is also a cause of discomfort among the citizens. Sometimes, the dirty and unfiltered water becomes a major factor in food poisoning, which usually takes place on festive occasions, when demand of water in the city increases. Any measure to improve the supply of filtered water also not been adopted by the government. Problems due to improper drainage system are also becoming a matter of concern among the people. The alarming increase in the disorderliness of drainage lines is posing serious threats for people, especially in poor areas . Filth and dirt runs down a channel by the footpath and children play over it. We have malaria , cholera and dysentery still destroying our children because such things exist.
There are too many dirty and owner-less dogs roaming about in the street of Karachi. They spread many diseases and sometime become a danger by injuring people.
Lack of environmental care among people and drivers of public service vehicles is giving rise to pollution problems. Dust fills the air in most of the roads all the time. Improper turned cars fill the atmosphere with deadly smoke at hours of rush, which causes disease among the policeman and common public. The blowing of pressure horns is always there, deafening the cars.
Karachi is also often subjected to terrorist activities. Bomb blasts and firing at public spots are resulting in great loss of human life. The terrorists deserve no less than capital punishment. It is the duty of the police to intensify their investigation to stop such activities.
For the well to do class, life in Karachi may be fascinating, but for other citizens it is a center of drawbacks. It is only through the concentrated efforts of each and every person including the members of law-enforcing and administrative agencies, can we overcome these serious problems of the Metropolis.
